It’s a sick feeling you experience when you come home in the rain, push the button to make your Allstar garage door opener rise and nothing happens. You may first just think it’s the batteries that need replacing. But many times, the problem may lay elsewhere.

First of all, after you’ve dried off and are in the house, try the keypad remote that is in the garage to see if the door rises. If it does, the problem is in the remote. If it doesn’t, you probably have a power problem somewhere. You should first check and see if the opener has come un-plugged. It could also be that a fuse has been blown or a breaker flipped.

Other common problems that homeowners experience with their Allstar garage door opener or other garage doors like Genie, Liftmaster or Stanley, for that matter, is that the door starts going down, then reverses and goes back up before hitting the floor. If this happens, you probably need to adjust the close force. Along the same lines, many times the door will immediately reverse after it hits the floor. In this case, try adjusting the close limit switch.

Another problem that some Allstar garage door opener owners find is that motor keeps running even after the garage door opens or closes. When this happens, try moving the limit switch further away from the motor. Finally, one of the most common problems, as mentioned in the beginning is the remote control device just not working.

There could be several solutions to this problem. Move closer to the door as you may be out of range. Secondly, check on the antenna for the motor. Make sure that it’s hanging down and accessible. Then, try using the remote switch on the wall of the garage. If this works fine, you may just need to replace those batteries after all.

If replacing the batteries still doesn’t fix things, you may need to get a replacement unit. These are available from many stores both online and brick and mortar. Check your instruction manual if you want to order direct from Allstar.

For any other problems that don’t seem obvious, check your manual or call a certified Allstar Garage Door opener specialist for help.

Jerrico Usher owns and operates http://www.garagedooropenerreview.net
Garage Door Openers
